EMPATHA Names Deborah King as Vice President of Sales and Marketing
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Dec 16, 2005.
Empatha, Inc., today announced that Deborah Jones King has been named Vice President, Sales and Marketing, effective January 2, 2006.
Ms. King is an experienced sales and marketing executive with over 21 years in the pharmaceutical industry. She spent 19 years with DuPont Pharmaceuticals, where she served in a variety of roles, including regional sales director, site director, vice president of manufacturing, and vice president and special assistant to the Chief Executive Officer. She subsequently spent two years with Hoffman-LaRoche as its regional sales director in the Midwest. Over her career, Ms. King has held positions that have strengthened her understanding of the sales and marketing, manufacturing, and distribution components within the pharmaceutical industry.
Ms. King has received numerous awards, including various sales achievement awards and DuPont Pharmaceutical's highest honor, the Summit Award, on two occasions. Additionally, the International Women's Forum selected Ms. King as a Leadership Foundation Fellow. Through this experience, Ms. King received specialized training and mentoring at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Ms. King spent 10 months on executive loan to the National AIDS Fund in Washington, D.C. In that special assignment, Ms. King focused on AIDS and its impact on African American women.

Ms. King is a member of the Executive Leadership Board (Healthcare Business Women, Chicago), the International Women's Forum, the Executive Leadership Council, and the American Business Women's Association. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Xavier School of Pharmacy. Ms. King provides volunteer work for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the National Medical Association (NMA).
