Angela Davis Elected to Empatha Board of Directors

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., November 2, 2005.

Empatha, Inc., today announced the election of Angela Davis, MD, of GlaxoSmithKline to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

“We are delighted to have Angela Davis join the Empatha Board of Directors,” said Gary Noble, MD, MPH, Chair of the Board. “She has great credentials and a solid experience in pharmaceutical research activities. We are fortunate to have the benefit of her counsel as we continue to grow Empatha.”

Dr. Davis is an Associate Manager in the Respiratory Medicine Development Center at GlaxoSmithKline at Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. She is also Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill and Consulting Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Davis served as Director of the Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine Division Clinic at Duke University Medical Center and Director of the Allergy Vaccine Laboratory and Adult Allergy Vaccine Injection Clinic at the same institution.

Dr. Davis completed her undergraduate degree at Clemson University in South Carolina and received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed a pulmonary and allergy/immunology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Davis is a member of the Medical University of South Carolina Admissions Committee and is professionally affiliated with the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; the American Thoracic Society; and the National Medical Association.
